Organisational Profile
History and Background
Anugerah is
a non-government organization established to channel the aspirations that drive individuals to be
able to contribute for the community
development particularly on the interests, practical and
strategic needs of women and children. The management of Anugerah
NGO have been actively involved
in the formation, establishment, promotion and development of various women’s organization in Flores, namely
Communication Forum for Women’s Rights
(2002–2006); Flores and Lembata Women Solidarity Network (2005–2007); Ngada
Women Network (2007); Communication Forum Accross Sub-districts of Ngada (2009);
Care for Children and Adolescents Social Issues Alliance (2012); Coalition of Civil Society Organizations
of Ngada (2012); Gender Mainstreaming Working Group of Ngada (2013); Indonesia Women
Coalition Bajawa Branch (2013)
as well as numerous collaboration with
various NGOs, INGOs and government institutions.
Capacity building, coordination and
advocacy on themes related to violence against women and children, women and
child rights, gender budgeting, accountability and transparency in the
government policies and programs are some of the achievements made by individuals in Anugerah NGO through
various efforts in the community and at the government levels.
It is widely acknowledged that advocacy for women and child rights, both towards victims of violence as well as at the
level of policy development requires time and adequate resources and strategy. The management
of Anugerah NGO recognized these issues and decided to establish an NGO that
able to evolve with the community to solve the challenge. Anugerah NGO received authorization by the Notary
Act No. 08 by Johannes Herman Albertho Dopo,
SH, M.Kn., on November 27, 2014. As a shared organization, Anugerah NGO continues the effort around community development, woman
empowerment, as well as child right promotion and protection. Such efforts are materialized
in the form of advocacy for victims of violence against children and women; capacity
building and support for women's organizations formed in the region; gender
socialization, children's rights and reproductive health promotion; advocating
gender responsive policies through gender mainstreaming within the scope of
local government.
Anugerah NGO’s institutional capacity is increasingly reinforced by a number of individuals who
have had experience working in child focused agencies as well as agencies that
promotes gender equality and empower women at international, national, provincial,
and district levels. Anugerah NGO commits to contributing quality programs
for communities and local government, focusing on women
and children.

VISION: To create a society that is equitable, empowered, cultured and independent.
MISSION:
- To advocate for the rights of children and women in various development fields including in the area of policies, programs and activities both at community and government level;

- To
facilitate empowerment programs for
vulnerable groups, especially women and children, people
with disabilities and minority groups to
get the opportunity to develop their own potential and skills necessary for
independent living and growth in their field of interests;
- To
conduct studies and provide
advocacy related to health, economic, social, political
and environmental issues associated with efforts to develop quality human
resources;
- To
provide business development
activities and mentoring to strengthen the economic ability in various sectors in accordance with the economic
and productive capacity on target groups in
need;
- To
provide advocacy and /or counseling
for women and children who are victims of violence;
- To
develop media and learning tools
that support capacity building of women and children in particular and the
society in general.
Field of Work, Programs and Activities
Aungerah NGO’s programs and activities are divided into four areas, among others:
- Program Development and Gender
Mainstreaming
This field oversees programs / activities:
a. Strengthening the Capacity and Leadership of Girls (through support for drop-out girls and boys and the ones in danger of dropping school, to continue their education and to be empowered and independent);
b. Development of Organic Agriculture
Initiatives (through support for farmer
groups, including women group, in order to be able to make organic fertilizer, has a higher-yielding farming skills and being
more productive farmers);
c. Gender Mainstreaming (by providing gender mainstreaming supports
for local governments and civil society);
d. Development of related programs targeting the fulfillment
of the rights of women and children.
- Advocacy and Capacity Building
This field oversees programs / activities:
a. Provision of advocacy for victims of violence against
women and children, including victims of human trafficking;
b. Training in gender and reproductive health for young
couples in marriage preparation courses held by local
parishes;
c. Socialization and gender training for communities and
community organizations;
d. Capacity
building for women's groups and organizations;
e. Discussions
with children and adolescent
groups on reproductive health,
trafficking, HIV/AIDS, etc.;
f.
Related education and training activities as required.
- Communication and Publications
This field oversees programs/activities related to
knowledge management through various media and publications, including the
following activities: radio talk-shows, development campaign brochure for public awareness with
the theme of women and child rights, HIV / AIDS, disabilities, etc.
- Research, Monitoring and Evaluation
This field oversees programs/activities related to research, monitoring and evaluation applied for
internal use and related social studies.
